The Crown Princess – Patron of Sweden’s Oldest Theatre, Confidencen

Confidencen – Ulriksdal Palace Theatre, Sweden’s oldest preserved Rococo theatre still in active use – is proud to announce that as of 2025, H.R.H. The Crown Princess has graciously accepted to become the theatre’s official patron.

The Crown Princess’s deep commitment to Swedish culture and history makes her patronage a particularly meaningful honour for Confidencen. This appointment further strengthens the bond between royal cultural heritage and the living performing arts that continue to thrive within the theatre’s historic walls.

Confidencen, located in the heart of Ulriksdal Palace Park, was built in the 1750s by Queen Lovisa Ulrika and has since been a site of artistic innovation and historical continuity. Over the years, the theatre has been carefully restored and preserved, and today offers a rich programme of opera, concerts, and dramatic works in an authentic 18th-century setting.
